Welcome to the
Mandurah Concert Band

In February 1997, with 18 members, rehearsals began for the concert band which grew to 30 members by June, and played for the opening of the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.  This was the first public performance as the Mandurah Concert Band.

Since then the Band has played for many private and public functions in Mandurah, Rockingham, Fremantle, and Perth including the openings of the Reading Cinemas Mandurah, the Mandurah Train Station and the Perth to Bunbury Highway.

Over the years, Mandurah Concert Band has entered several State Band Festivals and competitions and achieved excellent results in their divisions. The Band was State Champion in 2001 & 2003, runner up in 2009, and won the Len Nisbett Award for best country band in 1999 and 2009.

In 2013, the band performed at the Yamaha National Band Championships.
The Band came 2nd Place in all pieces performed.  A fantastic result against 7 other bands competing in the same division.

If anyone is interested in joining, supporting, sponsoring or booking the band, please look at CONTACT US page for all details.

The Mandurah Concert Band is rolling once more thanks to a new purpose-built trailer to carry their gear.

Their old trailer was getting worse for wear, and put their instruments at risk of damage.
“It was farm-built, it leaked, and when we did some repairs we found the frame was completely rusted out,” band president Tony Schraven said.

They use the trailer regularly to transport chairs, instruments and stands between storage, rehearsals and performances.

They rehearse weekly at the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre, and are growing in numbers, with 30 regular members at present.

The new trailer was built using money from a partnership grant with Alcoa, fundraising by the band, as well as volunteer work from the members and a local sign-maker.
